According to Alliance News Gateley Holdings PLC on Wednesday said it is managing a cyber security incident
According to the various reports, Gateley’s systems were taken offline in order to make the necessary investigations into the incident, supported by their Cyber Security Support team.
The incident was found to be confined to only .2% of its data which has since been traced and deleted from the organisation's infrastructure. Client data has been affected and their customers, stakeholders and the regulatory authorities have been made aware.
This is obviously a very small % of breached data, however it is proving to be disruptive to the business and all employees. The negative outlook that present and future customers have on working with Gateley will be proven in the following months.
Their Chief Executive Officer Rod Waldie explained:
"IT security is of paramount importance to Gateley and we had carefully planned for the occurrence of risk that a cyber breach could have on the business. Incidents of this nature are, sadly, prevalent. I am grateful that the prompt actions of our IT team have limited the impact of this incident and enabled us to resume our business operations swiftly,"
So far this has affected their share price by 1.5% on Wednesday in London.
